Alan entered the loss adjusting profession in 1984 after gaining extensive experience in the construction industry as a Chartered Building Surveyor. After holding senior technical roles and associate director positions with major international loss adjusting companies in the United Kingdom, Alan joined Godfreys in 2005.
Since arriving in New Zealand, Alan has continued to specialise in Commercial Property and Contract Works’ claims, leading multi-disciplinary adjusting teams on major losses and litigation support throughout Australasia and the Pacific. Alan approaches each assignment with an eye for detail, while delivering positive and cost-effective outcomes.

$1.5 million claim including complex cause investigation.
Fire Damage Claim – Plant Nursery, Northland
Fire damage to Buildings, Plant and Stock with Business Interruption. Total claim of $2.6 million.
Catastrophe Claim – Tobacco Plantation, Fiji
$400,000 claim. Cyclone and flood damage to Fijian tobacco plantation. Damage to Stock, Plant and Equipment with Business Interruption losses.
Fire Damage Claim – Commercial Building, Auckland
$1 million of fire damage to buildings, including Loss of Rents claim.
Earthquake Claims – Christchurch, New Zealand
$20 million claim for earthquake damage to substantial commercial property development.
