Mark is a senior loss adjuster and is part of the firm’s specialist major loss group.
Following his early career in insurance underwriting, Mark has built up over 31 years’ loss adjusting experience in commercial and industrial losses. As a large loss manager, he has adjusted some of New Zealand and the Pacific’s largest and most complex major property, financial, and liability losses.
Mark is a highly-skilled adjuster of infrastructure and services’ claims. His clients include telecommunications, power, and rail companies, and/or their insurers. Additionally, he has a wealth of experience and expertise in contract works and catastrophe losses.
He provides advice on serious corporate and industrial losses covering a range of issues, including business recovery. As one of New Zealand’s foremost loss adjusters, Mark is frequently called on to assist in finding alternative solutions to complex and intractable claims’ problems. His skills and expertise are often sought out to facilitate mediated outcomes in such claims. He also provides loss management and recovery advice to New Zealand and offshore underwriters and corporate entities.

Property Damage / Business Interruption Claim – Major Seafood Processing Plant
US$8 million Building, Plant, Stock, and Business Interruption loss. Settled within six weeks following detailed adjustment and negotiation, avoiding significant market price movement risks.
Property Damage / Business Interruption Claim – Soap Factory, South Pacific
US$5 million Building, Plant, Stock, and Business Interruption Ioss. Interpretation disputes leading to litigation, but the adjustment was accepted by all parties.
Rail Infrastructure Claim – weather event
US$11 million loss with 240 sites of damage. Negotiated settlement resulting in named adjuster status.
Fire Damage Claim – Ski Resort
US$5 million widespread ski resort arson incurring Buildings, Plant, Stock and Business Interruption losses. Difficult like-for-like issues resolved.
Professional Negligence Claim – Energy Sector
US$15 million. Settled by negotiation.
Fidelity Claim – NZ-wide
US$7 million loss. Investigation and reporting to achieve negotiated settlement and support of civil and criminal court action for recovery/prosecution.
