Giles is a Chartered Loss Adjuster with over 12 years loss adjusting experience. He specialises in property and construction-related losses and has adjusted a wide variety of claims across the domestic and commercial property sectors. In many cases this has included provision of advice on issues such as loss mitigation measures, and the appointment of specialist services and contractors. These claims have included the likes of industrial complexes, schools, devotional and historic buildings, along with multi-unit residential dwellings.
Giles has specialist knowledge in the building industry. Prior to joining Godfreys in 2010, he worked for 24 years in the construction industry and was involved in a multitude of building projects, both commercial and residential, throughout New Zealand and Australia. He is trade qualified in building and remains a member of New Zealand Certified Builders Association. He is also trade qualified in mechanical engineering. He spent 4 years in the mechanical engineering industry prior to his time working in construction and has retained a good understanding of machinery operation and componentry.
